Mike Shapiro

Mike Shapiro is a Partner at Comcast Ventures, where he leads sports technology investing. Prior to Comcast Ventures, Mike was Head of Ventures at City Football Group (CFG), where he partnered with founders building the future of global football across data, media, and on- and off-pitch technology. In that role, he also managed CFG’s strategic investment in 359 Capital and oversaw the E1H sports accelerator and incubator program, supporting early-stage companies across performance, fan engagement, and club operations.
Previously, Mike served as Director of Innovation and Venture Investing at Major League Baseball. There, he helped launch MLB’s venture fund, led investments across broadcast technology, data and analytics, marketing technology, sports science, and ticketing, and worked closely with MLB’s 30 clubs to deploy new technologies in player health, in-stadium operations, and fan experience.
Mike holds a B.S. in Finance and an M.A. in International Business from the University of Florida, and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
